Born and raised in Madeira, Rafael Gouveia is our newest property advisor responsible for finding your dream home on the beautiful island of Madeira.

Your Property Advisor has been growing since the beginning of 2023. Having already expanded to the Algarve and strengthened the team by hiring three more property advisors.

It is now time to cross the Atlantic and reach Madeira, where Rafael Gouveia calls home.

Rafael Gouveia has a degree in Business Administration and Management and specializes in sales and marketing. So, he has what it takes to convince you to join him in the Madeira countryside.

Like the rest of the team, Rafael has lived in many countries including Australia, the UK, Qatar, Switzerland and Spain. This experience has given him a culturally open mind and an understanding of how difficult it is to move to another country.

Rafael knows the island like the back of his hand and has a dense network of contacts who serve as his eyes and ears everywhere on the island. He has made it his mission to help newcomers who want to live a simple but luxurious life.

"Why Madeira?" you may ask. Well, because it is one of the most attractive markets, and also a beautiful island.

The real estate market in Madeira has experienced significant growth in recent years. "There has been considerable development, especially in real estate construction, particularly in Funchal, which attracts a large number of investors and other interested parties" says Rafael Gouveia. Last year, Madeira recorded the highest year-on-year growth, with a total of 4,142 homes sold for a total value of 841 million euros.

Moreover, data from the Portuguese Immigration and Borders Service (SEF) in 2021 show that Madeira has not seen such a large foreign resident population since 2008. The largest increase in the number of foreign residents with residence permits was recorded by Germans.

"Madeira knows how to promote itself extremely well and thrives on tourism. Visitors are often fascinated by the island and the real estate prices, which are affordable compared to their living conditions. Combined with the quality of life, safety, cost of living, and climate, this has a major impact on their decision to choose Madeira" explains the advisor.

Funchal, the centre of the island, is where most of the foreign population stays. It is followed by the regions of Santa Cruz, Calheta and Ponta do Sol, each with its own peculiarities that make them unique and attractive destinations for residents and visitors alike.

You can discover them all with Rafael, who will tell you which one is more suitable for you, either for living or for investment!
